Nadat de wereld bijna tot stilstand was gekomen, werd ik aangenaam verrast door het bericht dat sieraden uit mijn collectie Hidden geselecteerd zijn voor JOYA Barcelona Art Jewellery & Objects. Joya is het belangrijkste evenement in Spanje op het gebied van hedendaagse sieraadkunst. De nadruk ligt dit jaar op nieuwe technologieën en vakmanschap. Mijn collectie is gemaakt met eeuwenoude repousseertechnieken met behulp van ponsen én het gebruik van micro-lassen om parels en edelsteentjes te bevestigen.
In verband met corona is JOYA Barcelona dit jaar in de vorm van een expositie die meer dan zes weken te bezoeken is. Het is een spannende en diverse tentoonstelling met geselecteerde ontwerpers uit de hele wereld en ik ben trots in dit gezelschap te verkeren.
JOYA expositie van 19 september tot 1 november in ARTESANIA CATALUNYA – Crafts Museum: Carrer dels Banys Nous 11, 08002, Barcelona. Het museum is in de Gotische wijk.
While all was quiet during harsh corona times, I got the uplifting message that my work was selected for JOYA Barcelona Art Jewellery & Objects. Joya Barcelona is the main art jewellery and author objects fair in Spain. It gathers a great number of independent artists as well as related organizations and schools. JOYA, in its 12th edition, is focused on New Technologies and Crafts. My collection is made by using the age-old technique of repoussé by punching and the use of 'state of the art' micro welding to attach pearls and little gems to the pieces.
Due to corona the JOYA fair takes a different form this year. There will be an exhibition during 6 weeks, with an exciting collection jewels and objects of over forty international designers. I am very proud and happy to be part of it.
